Tips For Selling Your Home During The Holiday Seas
Many experts say that the best time to sell your house is the spring or early summer. While it may be true that competition among buyers may be fierce during this time period, the data shows that homes sell for more during the spring and early summer. I'm not sure if there is come psychological reason or if it is about getting out in the warm weather that temps buyers to pay more for their housing needs or it there is a self-imposed deadline to get into a new home prior to the start of the new school year.
Whatever the reason, sometimes it is not the right time to put your hose on the market in the early spring or summer. You should remember that while the spring may be the busiest time of the year for selling homes, homes are bought and sold every day of the year.
Here are some tips for selling your home during the holiday season.
1- Stage for the snow.
Try to highlight your house with tasteful seasonal decorations such as Christmas wreaths and pleasing lighting.
Housing for sale in the winter typicall show well when decorated for the holidays. Buyers seeing decorations, lights and a Chritmas tree can evoke warm memories for buyers. Holiday decorations may help your house seem more attractive that it would during other times of the year. Make sure that your decorations are tasteful and don't clutter your home.
When daylight savings ends it can get dark early. You might want to put any outside lights on a timer. The advantage to this is when buyers show up your house will look bright and cheery instead of dark and dreary.
This principle also applies to the inside of your house. Make sure that the heat is on prior to buyers arriving to your home. Make sure that your home is clean and smells fresh. Remember that you only get one cance to make a first impression. You reall want to 'wow' potential buyers when they pull up to your house and walk inside.
3- Make sure that your house stands out from the competition.
It is common knoweldge tath ther are not as many buyers during the winter months but there also arem't as many homes for sale and there aren't as many looky-loos. The buyers that are out looking need to move and are apt to need to move quickly.
In order to make your home stand out from the competition you might consider posting a you-tube video or virtual tour of your home decorated for the holidays to showcase your home. Remember when there is less competition your home can and should stand out above the other choices.
